The conference takes place in the Finnish Archipelago, just a stone's throw away from the Archipelago National Park, in south-west Finland. The conference venue is Korpoström on the southwest shore of the island Korpo, one of the large islands connected to mainland Finland by bridges and free ferries. The area consists of more than 20.000 islands and skerries, and is the largest archipelago area in the world.
Official languages in Finland are Finnish and Swedish, with Swedish being the majority language in the archipelago area. English is also widely spoken.

BY PLANE
By air to Turku:
- It`s fast and easy to fly from compact sized Turku (TKU) airport, which is located 8 km or 25 min public bus ride away from Turku city center. You can fly directly from Stockholm, Riga, Gdansk and Rome, or pick a convenient connection with SAS via their Stockholm hub or with airBaltic via their Riga hub. Flight times to most Western European capitals take ca. 4 hours including the stopover.
By air to Helsinki (HKI)
- More flight connections all around the world are available from Helsinki-Vantaa airport, located ca. 3,5 hours by bus connections from the conference venue at Korpoström.
We recommend renting a car from the airport, as it is the most flexible way to move in the archipelago area. Ferries between islands on the way to Korpoström are free and run frequently during summer.
From Helsinki airport to Korpoström:
- Travel time from airport to Korpoström by car is approx. 3,5 h (240 km). Helsinki Airport has several car rental companies. See rental options and opening hours from here: Car rental / Finavia
From Turku airport to Korpoström
- Travel time from airport to Korpoström by car is approx. 2 h (94 km). Several car rental companies are located at the airport. Turku Airport is a smaller airport, so some of them are open only by prior reservation, so make sure to check the opening hours and other information directly in the car rental companies’ websites. Car rental companies in Turku Airport include Avis, Budget, EuropCar, Hertz and Sixt.
BY BUS
You can travel from Helsinki and Turku airports to Korpoström also by bus. Both options travel via Turku city center. You need to change bus in central bus station in Turku to travel to conference venue in Korpoström and islands of Nauvo and Korppoo.
From Helsinki airport to Turku bus station:
- Travel time is approx. 2-3 h. Timetables for summer will be updated in April-May. Check timetables and buy tickets from here: Bus company Matkahuolto
From Turku to Turku bus station:
- Bus line 1 serves the connection between the airport and the Turku city centre. It is operated by local bus company Föli and the travel time is approx. 30 minutes. From Turku Bus station to Korpoström:
- Almost there! Bus lines 901-904M operate between Turku bus station and the archipelago. Line 902 is the only bus that drives all the way to Korpoström and it runs five times a day. Travel time is approx. 2,5 h. Timetables for the summer will be published in May. You can buy tickets with card or cash from the bus. See simplified bus timetable from Turku to Korpoström below. BY Train
Train tracks between Helsinki-Turku railway stations are being renovated during our conference, but the railway company will offer bus services to replace trains. Timetables will be published in May-June. See more information from their website here: Train company VR

Hotel Nestor
Hotel Nestor is a lovely hotel built on top of an old barn. The building is surrounded by endless numbers of forest paths, green meadows and the sea on walking distance. Hotel Nestor is well known for its famous restaurant Back Pocket. The rooms are spacious with personal harmonic interior. Each has a bathroom, TV and the breakfast is included.
Nestor is located 16 km from Archipelago Center Korpoström, where the conference venue is.

Sattmark EcoCabin
3 holiday cottages known both for their unique design and the ecological building material (clay and straw. ) The holiday cottage with inner courtyard views has parquet floors, 1 bedroom (2 single beds and 2 bunk beds) and a shared bathroom with a shower and a hair dryer. Towels and bed linen are available in this holiday home. The property has an outdoor dining area. .
There is an in-house restaurant & café and free private parking. A continental breakfast can be bought separately each morning at the café in the area. Guests at the holiday home will be able to enjoy activities in and around Pargas, like hiking. A children's playground is also available at Sattmark EcoCabin, while guests can also relax on the sun terrace.
Sattmark is located 55 km from Archipelago Center Korpoström, where the conference venue is, and 10 km from the gala dinner in Pargas.

- The cabin when 1-2 persons for four nights: 500 €
- The cabin when 3-4 persons for four nights: 550 €

Hotel Hjalmar´s is a cozy hotel located in the heart of Korpo village. There is one 3 persons room and a family room for 4. Both have en-suite facilities and comfortable Unikulma´s beds. Breakfast is included. .
The hotel has a popular pub & restaurant, and is close to all the services in this archpelago village.
Hjalmar´s is located 10 km from Archipelago Center Korpoström, where the conference venue is.
